With Age Comes Wisdom

When I was a kid, I don’t even remember doing any routine exercising.  I played street basketball, baseball and ran against others in the street to claim track status.

My only organize exercise came about when I went into the military. Basic training lasted for 3 months and after I had to only prepare myself to pass the yearly physical requirements. I was doing only what was required to pass the test.

I am just like everyone who has been influenced by someone or something that will shape their life! I happen to be working with an elderly man who was very physically fit, and he asked me how long I wanted to be able to stand on my own. Bewildered by the question - I asked him to explain. He said, “Son I like you and I want you to change your way of life.” I want you to give up fast foods and start exercising. He told me to look at him as an example. The physical image of this elder man was a forever image in my mind.

My light was finally turned on! I was around 23 years old, and I started exercising 5 to 6 days a week. That lasted for about 6 years. At 26 I married and 3 years later started a family. Kids ended my exercise routine!!

I returned to exercising again around the age of 35 and have been active ever since! I had the convenience of a gym at the General Motors site where I worked.

I retired from General Motors. And 20 years later I still workout daily at home. The fire is still in me. In my basement I have weights, bike and treadmill. To keep myself motivated; I started looking for other options. I’ve done at home interval workouts. And for my core I was doing planks.

Facebook was forever showing the Stealth board and it looked interesting. I decided to give it a try and now I am hooked!!! My daily routine starts off by doing one of the games plus 100 push-ups on the Stealth. Later in the day I will do other exercises or cardio.

As a 75-year-old man I still feel great! I am very proud of my current streak of 290 days using my Stealth Core Trainer and all while planking on my toes!  I have also conquered all 20 levels of Baseline. I am currently the oldest Stealth member to have achieved this goal.

My reason to continue exercising daily is to benefit my health and to encourage my grandkids!!!
